Here are some pictures of me playing music live...

Getting the audience up to sing backing vocals was always a laugh....loved that........

Sometimes, you just have to let go :-)............

This is what happens when you split your finger on the first song...and you know you have a 2 hour set to get through.......

The pose...

My beloved tanglewood 12 string...playing 'Pink Floyds' 'Wish you here'

Mike Thorn & I actually singing together.......Usually I forgot to add backing vocals..sorry Mike

Gosh, a blast from the past...That was me back in 1984. Look at the hair....

Pete Hall & me doing a Pink Floyd set (Last few tracks from DSOTM if I remember)

Hi Mike

Have you got any sound files from your gigs that we can listen to?

Hi risky. Sadly not. I have them on VHS (one of the group had videos taken of a few gigs but since i dont have a video player, i can't watch them)
I did a 4 song demo about 12 years ago & that's on cassette; maybe i should convert that sometime. Don't think the quality was too good on it tho; it was done on a Fostex 4 track and I played all the instruments on it (apart from drums - that was a drum machine) and a friend did vocals. I managed to get about 8 tracks bounced - hence the lack of quality :-(

Pity. I would have liked to hear you play. I didn't know that you played guitar. I used to have a Fostex 4-track tape but bought one of those handy little Korg Pandora digital recorders a few years ago - much easier to use, especially with the USB cable.

Cool! So are you acoustic or electric? or both? I'd upgrade myself, but I just can't justify it as I haven't even the time to get decent rehearsal time in at the moment.

Hi Mike

I have 2 classicals, 1 Yamaha semi, 1 Squire Strat, 1 Jap Fender Strat, 1 Burns Marquee and 1 burns Hank Marvin anniversary. I used to have a Burns Double Six but sold it on eBay a couple of years ago.

It was my birthday a week last Friday and I was allowed to buy myself a Vox AC15 Custom Classic. Peggy bought me 4 x 4 hour sessions at a local recording studio, and I am slightly terrified! I have to contact a friend called Tom Galley to set up the sessions, but now is not the time to call him as his brother Mel has terminal cancer. You may have heard of Mel - he used to be the guitarist with Whitesnake.

Happy birthday for last week!!!
I know what you mean about recording studios..you get so worked up about wasting time, you tend to go wibble when playing. Sorry to hear about your mates brother. Whitesake produced some great stuff.

Used to have a classical, but had to 'streamline' my collection! I'm now down to a 6 string semi Tanglewood, a 12 string semi tanglewood, a Les Paul standard and a batttered but much loved Honer bass. I have a Marshall AS50R which iss really great for the semi's.
I use a Zoom 505II and a plethota of Boss pedals for fx

I also have a Korg 505 II as well as a 508. Don't use them much now. My main box is the Zoom RFX2000 with special programs installed to emulate the various sounds of Hank Marvin from 1958-2000. I'm happy with my new Vox AC15 and my old Vox AD60VT amp is now on eBay.

A korg 505? isn't that a completely different box? The zoom is a pretty compact box without the frills. I needed it for presetting fx and moving between them during gigs. Also, i needed something that wasn't power hungry or overheat as our gigs went on for hours!!

Hows the AC15? Never used one before! Hope you're making aheck of a noise!!!!

Sorry about that. I did mean the Zoom 505 11. Is that what they call a brain fart? Anyway I'm allowed to be slightly dippy following my last birthday. The "Korg" is my tiny PXR4 recording studio. It has 4 tracks (32 virtual tracks) and measures about 4 inches square by 1 inch deep.

The AC15 is great. It keeps a clean sound as loud as I can get it at home. The guitar club was cancelled this week, which is a pity because I was about to give it a good test it in a large room.

That korg sounds awesome!!!

I really wish we had a club round here..sayng that..i think i'd ind it hard to find the time!!

Can't wait to retire in 4 years and get some quality rehearsals in again!!! i'll even consider gigging. i love playing live and it's been 4 years since i was last on stage.
